I think he got PTSD when daddy died. We know from when he got the demonic power back then that he'll lose his humanity if he consume it. But then I think that's a necessary plot for him (consuming that power) to kill that disgusting Genis.
He avoid his mother and sister is a result from his PTSD. Like the avoidant people? To not hurt them or get himself hurt more. Well, he lost his humanity in the process though. So hopefully lil sis can slap some sense back to Jamie.
