I'm in chapter 20+ smth but I just can't help but feel sad how no one understood MC. Being a woman in that era is already hard enough, but to have ur own identity be tied with your marriage or your pregnancy is just so depressing. As a woman, that might be one of my greatest fear, to lose my identity, for people to think less of my ideas, or my beliefs just because I'm married to a man(not that I'd ever be) or because I'm bearing a child. It's so sad to see her, a well educated woman, be watered down to just "someone who gave birth to the successor". I deadass cried reading the flashbacks.
