i think there was a 12 years age gap since they met when Yuri was already working, even affiliated with Xinlu's brother. if Xinlu was around 12 there, that means Yuri is 24 then. personally, I wouldn't think that Yuri is a pedophile just because they had romance with each other when Xinlu is already of legal age, assuming that he's around 22-23 years old. there was admiration on Yuri's part for Xinlu's beauty but romantic feelings weren't necessarily present, even now he still doesn't feel that way with Xinlu (maybe he's just really emotionally not there)—in my view, it's like someone obsessing over an actor, you find them attractive but you never really had the thought of getting with them. it would be pedophelic if Yuri waited for Xinlu to come of age before romancing him however, that wasn't the case since they reunited shortly after because of Xinlu's batshit crazy antics on Taeui (sinxe Yuri works for Kyle and is assisting Ilay during it) and developed afterwards during the entire time Yuri is looking after Xinlu.

On a side note though I really liked the story it was very satisfying!! I felt like the dragging paid off (personally at least) and I think their dynamic was super great!! Xinlu becomes super needy and they communicate pretty well!!

I would say yes if the author keeps pushing the agenda of kid xinlu as his first love It's my same issue with chu wanning (i did not finish erha so i don't know if this was addressed). But they were not a predator (that doesn't make it less weird tho). Pedophile simply means an adult is attracted to a minor, while predator is actively trying to pursue/coerce/manipulate a child.

Tbh when i read the novel after starting the manwha i didnt get that that was the intention of the author. I feel like it was more like he was enthranced by him, but its never estated to be in a sexual way, more of like he seeing something ethereal or otherwordly. But i understand that one may interpret it that way because its weird that the author chose that moment. Maybe its better for the story to take it at face value that it wasnt sexual and forget about the comparisons to the real world. At least i dont believe he is a pedophile because he never expresses sexual desires for him as a kid or to any other kids whatsover. But if the mentions of him finding him beautiful as a kid are triggering you i recommend you to not keep reading.

Nah babe it was not a translation mistake i read the raws of the manhwa where xinlu ask yuri does he have a first love and boi a flashback of xinlu when he was drowning, in his thoughts he was the most beautiful being he ever seen (i was giving side eye back to back). For me its he is not a pedo, he is just a weirdo
