This would be so much better if it didn't insist on using and abusing the "surprise, the villain is actually beloved by many" trope. The brother's dialogue must be mistranslated or smth. There is one pov of his where he's being way too incesty with his affection - at least I hope it is a mistranslation. The conspiracy guy too is over the top, like why does everything have to boil down to the bare bones that is Isabelle being so lovable, actually, but nobody tells her. It just invalidates the og Isabelle, yk what I mean? The manga established well how much of a loss it is, the tragedy of too little too late and what not, but at the same time is getting caught up in the trope and overstaying its welcome.
This does have a good twist or two though, and I enjoyed the yearning. I hope they do something interesting with the crown prince.
