This isn’t unusual and it’s easier said than done, and for his situation for goodness’s sake it was only 1 week to prepare everything before going for it ready but some people really do think that they’re unable to approach or say anything to someone without anything on them and even so hardly with the idea of making it perfect, and there IS a common saying for a reason that distance though not for everyone makes people closer with much reflection and especially when you’re thinking about becoming or whether are you serious to be someone’s partner and WANTED for a lifetime. In real life it is not easy and often not overwhelming because it is, that subconsciously you overthink and or overdo things and when you want to reunite with absolute resolution. We have seen them both just as anxious about what they were.
What are you saying?? You can prepare for something without having to ghost someone! How does preparing a ring justify keeping your partner in the dark and having absolutely no contact? Thats crazy. Having some distance/ boundaries and cutting someone off out of nowhere without any explanation are two very different things
