Deadass. A lot of these power fantasy manwhas fall apart BECAUSE they all choose to make their mcs emotionless weirdos that only care about the “big revenge” or “being the strongest” However the result is that their characters ultimately feel flat. The mc of this story has had literally next to no character growth at all since he first came to this world. When the only thing that drives the story forward is the mc becoming stronger and stronger it eventually becomes boring asf. This story at least has put a modicum of effort to flesh out their side characters a bit by giving some of them some backstory chapters but they honestly still feel flat. That’s the main issue with k-power fantasy manhwas. The character-building is SO ASS. So many are just boring ass rude “i dont care about anyone and hehehe look how overpowered and cool and strong i am” type masters. The mc is never in any true danger, every fight is just power-up fodder. It all feels so damn EMPTY. (And yet I still read all 160 chapters damn. I need to go on a detox. My brain is primed for slop atm)

Frrrr. Like damn. I do not care if this mfs ass dies or not. The writer has done literally nothing to make me care about him. Also ik what you mean. When I read ~the world after the end~ it just kept getting more and more ridiculous. Like how many billions of years was this dude gonna meditate or train in some pocket dimension before he was strong enough to defeat the next big bad guy. It’s such a weak writing cop out. I kept reading that one cause the art was fucking delicious but damn I feel like it’s worse for me rn cause I read this manhwa now immediately after having finished the absolute MASTERPIECE in characterwork that is ~Setting Sun, Dazzled Eyes~ anything else just pales in comparison. I have had a taste of what REAL WRITING can look like and now I’ve developed standards T_T
Korean manga starts off so good but somewhere towards the middle, they start making the plot overly complicated to create more twists and turns. And before you know it, it turns into unreadable slop. This is still good but I can see the cracks forming.
