SPOILERS BELOW

I finished the main story + part 1 of the ss. it was honestly a nice read, very entertaining despite the author relying on the usual lack of communication to get the plot going. It gets to a point lol but i powered through and finished it. ig if you read it you may end up sympathising with the characters a little and understand their motives, even love them later, especially jaeha! they may be both lacking in the love department but they're both smart and calculating. and once everything settles, you'll see how relaxed and loving both of them are with eo. Truly once the conflict ends their rs improves A LOT.

now to track the right order of events shortly, it all started with taegeon one-sidedly imprinting on jaeha when they met in the past. he gets into the gang and starts his plot for revenge for his mother against his grandfather and to seize the company. he had no reason to enter jaeha's life until he learns about the drug made by yooshin circulating that turns alphas into omegas, and that jaeha's step-mother who's purchasing it, may be giving it to him. that's when he gets to jaeha thru kim sumin, and then is surprised when jaeha proposed to him bc he didnt see it coming. they remain married until jaeha gets kidnapped and then they get separated. jaeha believes taegeon married him to carry out his revenge plan (not true!!), so he decided to help behind the scenes even if taegeon "doesn't care about him". in the meantime, jaeha is slowly turning into an omega, and the reason taegeon asks to meet during his ruts is to try to prevent that. they stay separated for a long while until yooshin starts collapsing, and janghan starts thriving instead under taegeon. after the success of both of their plans, jaeha asks for a divorce, taegeon refuses, taegeon's grandfather dies, and he goes to retrieve jaeha who ran away to another city. that basically marks the end of the drama and them getting back together.

now begins the issue of jaeha turning into an omega. while i do really hate this trope, i appreciate it a little how it was explored. both taegon and jaeha seek out a specialist who explains the process to them; basically jaeha has the choice to either turn into an omega or stay as an alpha. jaeha liked the idea of turning into an omega bc he wanted to imprint with taegeon. the latter didnt like it, bc it meant jaeha could get pregnant and he didnt want him to go thru that. some little harmless drama happens and it ends up with them both agreeing to imprint. when that finally happened, they both saw each other's memories and learned about how one fell in love with the other (it was kinda sweet ngl). so yeah that's the gist of it!

i prefer the novel to the manhwa as the latter changed some scenes and dialogues. and the former explores jaeha's perspective way better. i really love his personality, and he was just a fool in love lol plz give him a break! he's such a devoted husband and also doesn't shy away from playing the protector, he even admits that he's ready to kill anyone who dares harm taegeon lol (and he dismantled an entire company just bc taegeon got stabbed!). and taegeon WORSHIPS jaeha. while he did act cold towards him during their marriage and separation, he was just doing his best to climb up the ranks and become powerful enough to be worthy of him. he actually felt hurt when he asked jaeha if he likes him and the other said no lol. they both had their insecurities bc it was their first shot at love, and the miscommunication hurt both sides but then eventually the two of them met in the middle to make things work.

what i didn't like a lot was how the reader could understand how most things went, but they weren't entirely discussed between the characters even after they made up. for example that omega who jaeha saw with taegeon, we learn about the part he played in the story (he shows up again later) but jaeha didn't bother to ask and ignores it. so i wish the author sat them down lol and made them break down past issues and discuss them.

where i read it ended with jaeha bringing up pregnancy, taegeon was very reluctant and worried about jaeha, and i liked when jaeha told taegeon it's also up to him to decide now, he didnt like that lol and said it's never up to him bc he's not the one who's gonna struggle with childbirth. so while i preferred for jaeha to remain an alpha, i didnt entirely hate how his transition happened bc unlike other stories, HE CHOSE to finalise it and the pregnancy was planned. still i wish we got an alphaxalpha bc we really lack those (￣∇￣"). also we may or may not witness jaeha getting twinkified ╥﹏╥ in the novel after turning into an omega he kept "losing muscle mass" and he was insecure about the changes in his body, so he stays adamant about keeping up with exercise. i think that wasn't really necessary and he could've just stayed the same.


another point is.... we have a SECOND COUPLE YAY!!!! it's been ignored in the manhwa so far but i hope it's just delayed and not entirely omitted. so taegeon's subordinate jeon-gil ends up with jaeha's brother jaeho. their romantic interaction was brief in the side story but jeon-gil is WHIPPED lol. i doubt it'll be explored more but god i hope the author gives them their story, and i hope jaeho this time remains an alpha lol.

anyway this is it. this has some of my personal thoughts on it, you're free to disagree! i also skipped some bits but if you have questions i'll answer them!
