in the novel there is no real chasing or redemption arc. the seme never changes, but they end up together in the ending. seme abuses him really badly for a while and then lays off a bit when uke becomes very mentally and physically unwell. that’s the closest thing to a redemption arc in the story
i already read the novel so I know he’s terrible, but seeing it drawn is really something else (._.’)
