The writing is childish and the pace is too fast, it reads like a cheap soap opera. Also, it's one thing if the king likes her "unusual" dish since he's a gourmet (and quirky), but people (especially back then) have very traditional pallet and probably wouldn't find her western-esque foods enjoyable, but they weirdly do? Feels very forced honestly. And don't even get me started on the villains, smh
