Masterpiece of a story. Beautifully written characters. Good translation (does leave out some words occasionally, but easy to fill-in-the-blanks yourself) CINEMA STORY. Truly thought this comic was going to fall under the same harmful anime stereotypes (Misogyny, Objectification, etc) NOPE! The MC is great! The 2nd MC is great! Their constant fight for dominance in their power dynamic is VERY interesting and REALLY deepens their relationship. I am SALIVATING for ANY CLUE of their "alternate's" history and DRAMA!!! I am also excited for the slowburn romance, as this relationship is DEFINITELY fostered on mutual respect and comradery (ofc they still have a long way to go, so emphasize on the "slowburn). 10/10 one of the BEST stories I have read. The art is GORGINA GORGOUS!!! Dont let the blurry 1st and last intro panels fool you!! This story can get a *touch* preachy for my standards, but the story barrels FACE FIRST into topics and discussion that are adjacent to real life. (The moralities of humanity; deciding your place in a society you do not agree with; How much government control is considered too much and immoral; What can a civilization bred from an isolationist, capitalistic, and hyper productive culture look like?; Harsh class dynamics and hierarchies, etc ) I appreciate that this writer intentionally paints these subjects in a morally grey tone. More than one perspective is always displayed, the MC's can have hypocritical and contradicting perspectives, and the author(s) do/does not push a specific "correct" answer -for the most part- and allows their cast of characters to be in disagreement.
