I can't say that Anya's actions feel like anything more than an attention grab. a grand spectacle to force those in her orbit to focus on her and comfort/coddle her because she didn't think she was getting the sort of attention she felt she deserved. Often when her target's focus isn't 100% on her.. like thinking for themselves sorta thing.
