I swear the characters in this webtoon are the most "high school" high school characters I've ever seen in webtoons (50/50 on the looks, just all personalities). Most writers struggle to make characters do stupid mistakes that actually make sense in the context of the character and setting. It usually just seems like plot convenience, but I think we actually worked ourselves here with a trail of bread crumbs.
I can't wait for the people who complain and hate the MC so much to finally give up and get outta here.
