There's is something absolutely wrong about hiw this story is written, it's not about the tropes, but about the story beats and structure itself. There is no tension. No character inner conflict, they don't seem to be actual characters, just stand ins for a BL tropes.

Like they are all over-exaggerating and not reacting enough at the same time. It also feels like a baby's first story posted on watpadd at 15. Mustache twirling villain, mcguffin pregnancy, characters that stumble over their own shoelaces upon a plot.
Main characters have no agency and they just accept what happens to them. That makes them boring and isn't good way to create tension. To be fair I laughed at this chapter's plot, with villains big speech. Like, would he break into a Disney villain song next?

I have no idea what is happening, but Moscareto is genuinely good writer. It seems either she has a bet to write the shittiest story to get out of a publishing contract or something. Or she left the writing to the artist.
