He uses whatever "GODLY" powers he has to control the orphan and also cause natural disasters to kill the villagers, but the priest snaps out of his reverence and realizes thats not a "GOD" but is something sinister. He and orphan escape from village and live somewhere else to be happy. ** Not gonna lie, skimmed through the ending but I still enjoyed the story. The "GOD" is really the Devil there trying to corrupt the priest who lost his will to live, and the orphan who feels like he is alone after his family's death, it's like a psycho-sexual found family type of story lol
