so someone could be a switch verse, the position they take during sex has no connection to their role, if they do engage in dom/sub dynamics

that’s for sure a reason but i think people also have these preconceived heteronormative and ignorant view on queer sex. if someone is a bottom, that means they have to be a sub etc etc because that’s what the straight patriarchal society tells you a woman is supposed to be and a lot of ignorant readers of yaoi see bottoms as women (not to say women can’t be subs or that they’re lesser than or falling for the patriarchy for being subs it’s just a pattern i’ve noticed over the years)
