Honestly it might just be me but I think the emperor already deserves forgiveness. She did get mistreated when she was a child but the emperor realized it and tried to be better since her maturity. From then on there's no problem and theyre good and he's good. Maybe it feels like he doesnt deserve it cus we know the other future but th thing is, those things never happened and throughout the story (ofc before her maturity) he was on her side even when his other daughter was around. Plus, I honestly think it would make more sense if she's more attached to the emperor than her maternal father. I kinda don't like that she chose the magic tower cus I feel like it would be more reasonable for her to either stay at the palace or live her own life away from those men.

Hmm honestly I kinda get why she isn't attached to him, from the moment she learned of the future she acted like a completey different person what he he knew and even how he came to love her was because she changed, and it wasn't a change cuz she grew up or anything was basically just to survive all the times she did daughterly things was so she wouldn't be hated not because she truly wanted to do so, but from the moment she met her biofather there was a bit more truthfullness and realness in her personality one she hadn't really shown to the king, she didn't need to act based of off of survival. That's how I get why she is so attached, but don't take my word for it, kinda dropped the story sometime after her bio sibling and father came to the palace with her and the other daughter was doing some shady stuff or whatever

I would disagree that he changed because she changed. Because it was shown that he changed because he saw how she was hurting. He wasn't really impressed at first when she was trying to coax him but where he changed was when he saw her crying at night. It was shown in the early chapters. Tho I get where you're coming from but the part that I don't like was exactly that she just met his bio family but trust was easily built. She didn't like the emperor because of the future but the thing is his bio father at some point abandoned her too, I think white haired brother also has negativity towards her.

Ahh maybe I forgot hahaha, I do see his effort and stuff which matters but it's all up to the person to forgive and on some cases forgiveness just isn't there. But she didn't know that he changed genuinely, it doesn't change the fact she spent most of childhood in an act, biding her time to leave, just to not die. And when she met bio dad I was like "girl imagine life with him, would have been way worse" hahaha but in then her survival was never dependent on him so it was easier to get closer that s all, it's all circumstance which is what I like about the manga, it kinda gives the lesson of "you can have the best intentions and quickly learn from mistakes, but even the smallest mistake has big consequences, and ultimately you ejust have to live with them, it's unfair and sad, but really realistic, since I have some experience especially with my own dad. Its easy to feel bad for the king but he didn't spend most of his life pretending to be something he is not just to be loved, it would have been different if she knew, but she didn't, a really shitty circumstance but it happened and now everyone has to deal with it

Suffice to say, I get your wanting him to be forgiven, it's not like he is unredeemable and Honestly would have been a great dad to mc, and was a little later( just nut the real mc) his time to get ahead ran quicker than most after his mistakes which dues suck for him, but I can't blame the mc for it either

The emperor literally was a grown ass man bullying a child. He purposely spoke harsh words knowing she was there so she would go away or simply didnt care. It doesnt matter if he 'matured', his actions wouldve probably been acceptable if he was a child but he was a literal adult neglecting a kid because he quote on quote doesn't have feelings. Not only that, he wasnt even going to tell her that he knew she was there, he's a coward and expected her to forget everything because she was a child. There is no excuse for him, Phil has every right to not forgive him.

I'm not sure but I don't feel like you got my point... I mean it's up to her if she doesn't forgive him but what I'm saying is it's weird that she still hasn't forgiven the emperor but she's already opening up to his bio family cus her initial impression of her bio family is not much worse than the emperor. One can say that she got to know them better but th thing is she already got to know the emperor and that the emperor cherishes her. I'm just pointing out that Inconsistency with her personality cus if she couldn't forgive the emperor I'd expect she wouldn't be easy on her bio family.

The only reason he did apologize afterwards was because he snitched on himself and got caught. The emperor is selfish, he wouldnt have spoke a single word about what happened if Phil didnt mentioned it which shows how much he undermines Phil's feelings about what he did to her as a child.

Well she doesnt know her bio family well, and as you can see she's opening up to them because she wants to know more about them. Would you rather live with a man that neglected you during your childhood or restart with your bio family that you can actually open up to and get know??

Honestly I'd rather live away from them but if I had to choose I'd choose the emperor because he tried his best and he's obv become better and he showed results. I know he was bad in the past but he did redeemed himself if you didn't see it I don't think we read the same story... The emperor gave her his sincerity since her maturity and he continued to do so till now. Unlike his father (who's okay) who never really spent even a single thought of her until she showed up. And again back to my point she has the same bad impression of them based on the novel but unlike the emperor she grew with she's already opening up to them. But the emperor who treated her well she never opened up to and didn't really tried to... If we're going to think about it, the emperor mistreated her by ignoring her but that's literally the same thing her bio father did. Even if her bio father knew of her existence he couldn't be bothered based on his personality.

Are YOU sure we read the same story?? You're passing off her neglect as if it was something simple. If it's still affecting her until this day this isnt something that can easily be forgiven, you think every abuser deserve a second chance just because they say sorry?? And her bio dad didn't ignore her, he literally didn't even know she existed because her mother ran away. And you'd know that if you , oh wow, read the story. Also if the mother ran away, you really think the bio dad would come looking for her?? And its crazy because Legun actually accepted her into the family easily once she came back. Youre making it seem as if he's a deadbeat when he literally didnt even know where she was. You kept saying the emperor treated her well as if that'd excuse anything, if I insulted a person then give them candy afterwards you think that insult will just go away? It really sounds to me youre victim blaming just because Phil didnt forgive the emperor because he was nice the last few years of her life

Whattt where did the victim blaming even come from... And what's going on with your attitude are you okay? Lol. It's not like leguin accepted her as family he accepted her because its a responsibility to him. He's not really any better. I'm not really victim blaming her I'm just saying there problem with the writing because she's kind of being inconsistent. Because I'm saying it again, leguin didn't try to find her, eustis ignored her. She has bad impression of her bio family based on novel, same with eustis. Looks pretty similar to me. Theyre both bad but she grew with eustis and eustis redeemed himself and really it showed to everyone. And that's more or less a decade of him better. So eustis did more for her than leguin. Now why I think she's being inconsistent? Well she doesn't really know her bio family but she already trust them more than eustis when they are both shit but eustis did more for her. Idk what's so hard to understand there. Im not devaluing her childhood pain. What I'm doing is exactly valuing it. Also yes eustis ignored her but what is an absent father any better. Eustis atleast made it up to him. Leguin is too late.
