I hate that they skipped and changed so much from the novel 😭😭. I sound like broken ...

I hate that they skipped and changed so much from the novel . I sound like broken record but they completely glossed over ML finding out about MCs death prediction.

Here a small list of the parts I really hate that they changed/skipped:
MC and ML act like an old married couple for the majority of the novel. They nag and fight about petty things but always do what the other asks.
MC tried his best to hide the fact that he's going to die in the novel. He cleaned out his room so that no one would have to organize his things once he is dead (bc he remembers how difficult it was for him to do that for his sister).
He left a note on an old paper where he confessed his feelings to ML disguised as an insult.
He even tried to move out under the disguise of them having already fixed their relationship. This causes ML to beg MC to change his mind. MC makes up excuses like "you don't let me squeeze the toothpaste form the middle" and ML is like "I don't care anymore and we already changed to liquid toothpaste". It's sad and cute.
It's ML who has to purposely go investigating to find out MCs future. He comes back heartbroken, drenched from the rain, and begging him to believe that they can change the unchangeable. He had to go as far as decipher CCTV footage.
When MC asks why he wants him to live so bad. ML says it's bc he considers him family and MC cries out of happiness bc I'm his head he believes that since ML will never resiprocate his feelings, this is as the closest he will ever be able to be.

Quote : "I never wished for a lover or a pair. I didn’t even dare to dream of it. So the position of family was the best possible outcome I could achieve. I was satisfied. I couldn’t wish for anything more."

MC is not only sad that he might miss his sister's memorial but also ML reuniting with his imprinted partner.
The best part is ML's confession. While MC was happy that ML considered him family all along, once those words left ML's mouth he felt a pit in his stomach. He wanted to take it back bc it didn't encapsulate what he felt but he couldn't when he saw MCs reaction. Then on MCs birthday he finally confessed

Quote: “……I like you.”
A soft breath brushed against my ear. Goosebumps rose on my skin. Gripped by astonishment, I didn’t properly hear what Gye Joonmin said.
“What?”
“I like you, Won Yoogyeol. You’re precious to me.” ...
“Yeah, yeah. Family is precious.”
As I nodded, Gye Joonmin firmly denied my words.
“No. It’s different from family.”
Surprised by his words, I grabbed his collar. Last time, he said he would become my family. He clearly said that! How could he suddenly change his words like this? I even felt betrayed.
Unable to overcome my frustration, I shook Gye Joonmin back and forth. He unexpectedly just went along with whatever I did.
“What? You promised! Are you going back on your word now? A man shouldn’t go back on his word!”
“I like you, Won Yoogyeol. I like you as a person.
End quote

And the absolute bestest part of all is when ML admits that he loves MC even over uju-hyung

Quote:
“What about Uju-hyung?”
“It’s different.”
Gye Joonmin said firmly.
“Uju-hyung is someone I want to make happy. Someone I want to repay as much as I’ve received.”
That’s right. Gye Joonmin had missed Uju-hyung for a long time and wanted to meet him and make him happy. So…….
“You, Won Yoogyeol, are……”
Gye Joonmin gently stroked the back of my hand with his thumb. Even though that was all, my toes curled involuntarily.
“The person I love.”
“Wha, what?”
“The person I always want to be with.”
End quote

The yearning is all skipped .

Honorable mention to all the sad quotes MC had regarding uju-hyung before the reveal.

"Then I paused. Why am I casually assuming a year? Will I still be Gye Joonmin’s temporary Guide then? It’s a fragile relationship that could shatter the moment his imprinted Guide appears. Even if not, we could fall out and break it off by tomorrow."

"“You’ll meet him again.”
I sincerely hoped so. You’ve had enough hardship; it’s time you got to be happy."

"Even if I can’t stay by your side someday… I’ll live cherishing this memory.
By then, I’ll probably be happy seeing you live happily with Uju hyung. Your happiness is my happiness.
So I hope Uju hyung shows up soon. I want you to be happy even a little faster. Please, let it be so."
