Opinion: Pure Cancel Culture

I truly don't think that this something that was insensitive or was meant to be taken that way. You can't say that "it's not historically accurate" while also criticizing the trope. The whole point of "dark fiction" is addressing heavy themes like power struggle, trauma, as well as dark humor to build upon complex characters and set an emotionally resonant story.
I personally think that people are really quick to jump onto something and ride the hate train without really considering if this was meant to be "insensitive" or "demeaning", or not.
There should be acceptance of creative freedom or else how will people open up?
If everything is censored or "cancelled" just because "people think it's appropriation/disrespectful" or because it talks about a group of people that "woke" media idolize, how are we supposed to be connected as a society?
I know I might be getting too broad now but I think having this stopped really just shows that people are only in it for the atypical storyline/trope, and now, authors are probably more afraid with their projects and trying out new tropes that aren't the norm because of the fear of public backlash and cancel culture, thus ridding this specific genre of any new creativity.
