What does maturity have to do with being able to stand up to your mom and not disappointing her. No matter how mature of a person you are having to disappoint your one and only mother is not an easy thing to do even if it’s the right thing to do. You can compare it to teenagers learning their identity, but this clearly isn’t just a disagreement in politics with that money they can restore their fallen family
Maybe that's the thing: that disagreement, that power you get when you feel you need to shout because they are trying to deny who you are, sometimes called immature sometimes called whatever it comes to your mind ( wrongly or not) is what I am looking for here.
And yes, you're right, disappointment. Emotional manipulation. If you don't do what I want then you will be a disappointment. Maybe I forgot about that when I was writing this comment, I was on rage thinking about giiiiirl cmoooon shout at her and tell her that you won't do it xD wrong age and time and place and moment I guess. Yeah it was disappointing, but thinking about the times/societal pressures, the trials she’s gone through in like and the obvious abuse/manipulation from her mother

Also, you can see she stood up against the lawyer and her mother once, because she indeed wanted to do the right thing. It's only after her mother talked about being filial that MC lost her confidence.
Lately it has been getting on my nerves the presence of the mother who is the God for the strong female lead. So, you are strong, you have your own ideas, your mother is telling you to sell your soul against your ideals "for the family", and instead of telling her (you don't have to kill her, you can speak with her about it) that this is not your way of doing stuff, you shut up. Chapters before you were revolutionary about your way of teaching and even spoke back to your employer when, in this time and day of the story we are speaking about, it looks like a woman should have shut up, and a poor person should have shut up even more. And... You can't speak to your mother about this.
There are tons of annoying stories about teenagers with sentences like "mom doesn't understand me" that feel more mature at the moment than you.
