And damn like why u think mc doesnt "trust" the duke and ml u wonder. Like the whole past life u dont see the scene where shes begging for recognition and it always ended up as dissapointment (yeah, I know she did it in the wrong way but its already establish a pattern of how whe should behave in front of them). The only relationship that she can give back the "trust" is where she can contribute to find the truth, so nobody cant say her lying or giving a missinformstion, but duke and ml is too competent for her to have confidence for that. U can even see it from the people that she choose to show the information: the crown prince, the little pope, the doctor. And this last chapter? Confirm it more.
Blaming mc that got ton of trauma that slowly healing (like be for real we can see the grow, its slow bit its still in character with her history) from her previous life is something, I suppose.
The pace is super normal. Anyone grow up in broken family/eviromnment would tell u that despite try to fix some crooked views that they got from their experience, sometimes it would still show up. This girl is already pretty confident and work hard with her objectives (every time skips we get the confirmation that she always trying to find the heretics trace),the reason it looks like she cant proceeding more because she only has limited infomations. And sometimes her trauma show up when the trigger is in from of her??? That super make a sense??? And someone dare to call her fickle for that???
Or maybe the comment mean they want something like the abandoned empress where they make super ridicolous trauma inducing past life and then kick it out like some retcon.
