Because he brazenly does things or says things that are hurtful but mostly he doesn’t actually want to hurt. He actually wants to help. It’s like he believes he is helping in his own way and doesn’t realize he is hurting the other person. Atleast that is the explanation from the novel. Even with chase, according to Greyson, he was trying to scare chase so that he starts taking out his pheromones through sex and not the extractor. Because sex is the best option. He thinks he was just trying to help Chase.

He’s not evil like how he’s potrayed in other comics and novels. The other comics and novels are from other perspectives so he s potrayed as a villain guy but in DMIYC we can actually see his true nature and he genuinely wants to help people. He was born as a dominant alpha . That’s a rare case in zigs omegaverse . They usually start Manifesting after 10 years of age but Grayson manifested during birth ( very rare ) which affected his brain’s emotional functioning . So he can feel emotions but can’t understand what emotions he’s feeling or what others are feeling so when trying to help he hurts others with his actions . And genuinely believes he helped them. He’s more autistic than a psychopath. People keep saying He’s a psychopath but he s not . He’s very much green flag to Dane in DMIYC. He’s consent proned . He has the best character development out of all Millers . Dane helps him , loves him and guides him in life . That’s why I love Grayson and Dane’s stroy in zig universe .

Whenever he does something wrong , Ashley his father locks him in a room for days , and Grayson can’t come out of that room , if he do come out without permission he ll be locked in even more time. What sad is Grayson doesn’t know it’s abuse . Grayson genuinly believes what Ashley ( his dad ) did to him is correct . That’s why when Dane hears this , he gets shocked to know Grayson doesn’t even know he was abused ( this is when Dane slowly starts to understand Grayson) sorry my English isn’t good .
i mean ashely did such extreme things because he had to there simply was no other way to make greyson learn as a kid. he himself admitted he hated doing it but also because he did that greyson turned into half a decent human being right?
A part of it is true, but if you will see Grayson and how Dane taught him and made him understand things, u will knw that Grayson didn't need Ashley's techniques. That's wht Ash believed that only this method is the right way to teach him. It did help to a certain extent,he punished him fr the wrongs but never tried to make him understand. Same with koi, he believed in Grayson but never tried to correct him.
while it is true Dane taught Greyson much better than ashly, it also comes down to their emotional bonding. Ashley started seeing his dad in greyson and he reacted very extremely to prevent that from happening, and as a parent he didn't hate greyson but he was left with little options. Greyson also tried to kill his omega twice just for the heck of it. while I agree what ashley did was abuse but at the time he was a desperate man trying to make everything work . his conversation with Dane made me feel bad for him. Dane can make greyson understand better because of the fact that greyson himself cares extremely about being a better person for Dane and he knows what will hurt Dane. which is why he himself is willing to do better and not fuck up even a little bit. it's like meeting Dane halfway.
and yes Ashley and Koi should have explained to him better but it's always showed that they had assumed he didn't have that emotional depth to understand the reasoning. Which is why they were so surprised seeing how he's behaved with Dane. that emotional growth they witnessed with Dane around was probably something they never even imagined he was capable of let alone seeing it before.
the whole situation is so sad and I'm just glad they're all kinda healing from it
It's all comes down to different perspectives, like frm wht I see, it was the first time when Grayson saw that there is someone who is not judging him, blaming him and showing genuine concern abt hi, that's what made him more curious about Dane and he also started to change. He never got this kind of understanding from anyone in the past. At the same time, Ashley was also not capable of raising them right as he himself was emotionally challenged. Not just Grayson, he didn't give any of the children wht they actually needed. He tried in his best possible way. But that wasn't the right way. So, yeah it all comes to situations they were in and the traits they had.
Can someone spoil the novels for me? Shy do everyone hates Grayson so much?
