Minyeong is not dead, Cheol is out of his mind on hallucinogens so he’s an unreliable narrator. What I would LIKE to think is about to happen since we’re about to hit a finale and I love tragedy/irony/comeuppance- Cheol is so distraught that he kills himself.
This is obviously not the outcome Minyeong was going for and would just feel SO solid following the forboding/foreshadowing “commit sins and reap the consequences” line we were just served. It would also fit with the whole dark overarching theme of playing a losing game.
Because as so many have learned, apologies and revelations have a tendency to arrive far too late.
