Nanjo made decisions that bound him to this point from the start

I don't get why people don't see that nanjo descent into this whole complex situation stems from a deeply ingrained savior complex, a desire for absolute control, and profound underlying loneliness. While it is easy to view Nanjo purely as Mok-yeon's victim, it is apparent that Nanjo actively made decisions that bound him to this disaster from the very start. Nanjo is emotionally intelligent and before mokyeon even entered the picture, nanjowas already trapped in this asymmetric relationship with Chae Sunhwa, an opportunistic partner who used him primarily for financial benefit and status. Nanjo was entirely aware that Sunhwa was exploiting him and instead of cutting ties, Nanjo leaned heavily into a savior role. He believed he could protect or change Sunhwa, This pre existing tolerance for being emotionally used; made him a prime candidate for mokyeon psychological warfare. Nanjo had this illusion of control and arrogance, he genuinely thought that he was the one pulling the strings, remember the last scene he appeared in when mokyeon came crying and confessed that he liked him, and nanjo said he didn't need to apologize since he was proud, this is him alluding to being arrogant regarding this whole ordeal, he thought nothing could destabilize his life or taint his reputation, his pride convinced him he could handle mokyeon. Beneath Nanjo’s hyper masculine and polite exterior lays an intense emotional isolation. Mokyeon who has severe abandonment trauma sensed this emptiness instantly during their first encounter. For someone like nanjo who spent his life tightly wound, maintaining strict boundaries and suppressing his true desires, a force as consuming as Mok-yeon is terrifyingly magnetic, i think on some subconscious level nanjo was starving to feel something intense.. Well that's my take anyway and the title of the manhua is a dead giveaway that it fits both of them albeit in different ways.
