well the Romans weren’t particularly intolerant of homosexuality before Christianity, and it doesn’t look like this story is set AD. It was in fact “anti-Roman” only if the Roman citizen was the bottom in the relationship, and so nobody would bat an eye at this, because the Greek ‘barbarian’ (as they would call him) is the bottom, therefore okay. In any case there was no punishment for homosexuality decreed by the senate. Just in case anyone was wondering
