Nooooooo , man . Author is doing non of that . Mokyeon suffers from Bipolar disorder . He had that even before he met Nanjo. This is just representation of how bad mental suffering can go .

Not feeling sorry for Mokyeon has me really questioning myself. Idk if it's me knowing that the author is trying to create a story about how loving someone can be detrimental to you or me believing how people use emotional manipulation to coerce you back to a relationship by making you feel that you are a cause of their mental state. However, I hope the author is able to convey the difference to readers because Season 2 is a heavy chapter thus far.
