I've noticed that too. Tons of manhwa rated 9.1-9.2 is the same quality (if not worse) than manga with the same tropes rated 8.8-8.9. I think it's because more manhwa readers only rate something if they like it
Yeah, I don’t get it. I miss the days when manga were more popular and anything over an 8 was considered great. Lots of people are missing out on great stories because they refuse to read anything rated lower than a 9.
Yeah and a lot of brand new stuff immediately gets condemned to this hell after a single person rates it a ≤3/5 and tanks the rating. I've found so many gems with low ratings and less than 50 rating total
This!! That’s why I wait till I finish reading it. I’ve loved lower scored series too. I care more about the comments than the numbers.

That's why I generally go for any manga rated more than 8.6 and manhwa rated more than 9.1
