Really? I think the premise outside the romance is pretty solid though. Where did you read until?
As far I've read , there's same dungeon monster like all the guideverse.. guide is clingy to esper ... Esper saved him in the childhood.. esper doesn't have emotional feelings for guide blah blah
If you ever feel like it, you should try to read more. Skip the romance bits if you want it's not really important imo because like you said its nothing new (it was decent for me because this week ive had to suffer through a lot of lame bad boy nonsense, and these two seem like real-ish people even if the romance is overall whatever) but some aspects of the story are definitely unique and interesting imo
