as to why astrid decided to take only lectica is that she knows better than anyone how the house will act with her awakening. aka the sacrifice. so like hilda, she has planned to spirit her away to the mage tower before any of that and return to deliver the divorce papers considering astrid is done with the duke's bs
as for no one being surprised about tan or astrid. I imagine in astrid's case the servants have only see the prince as of late, so their priority of who to report is the instance of "astrid and the prince, or the prince and astrid.: yes there was the instance with the tower, but it seems agreed upon that it's the duke's fixation.
as for tan, thankfully our new butler has shown some actual reaction. it anything the duke's instance of giving tan a title, just moved to the face of tan who has become a human. as for the dog name... I think because tan was young as he is, they had only given him a dog name(?) though I think that's a bit illogical because pets can have human names too!
and with the head butler's perspective, aside from cautionary rules within the household. serving the household seems to have made them jaded. I mean imagine the days when astrid who have resurrected and maintain that forest as well. certainly a new catalyst but probably not the first instance of strange happenings
