That’s how the captor treats the captive. When the person held captive makes any sort of choice on their own…it does NOT sit right with the captor because they want to be in total control at all times. It’s disgusting and is a way of making sure the captive depends on the captor more and more, sort of grooming them into staying on their own.
To add on, remember how Zhenya didn’t like that Taekjoo ate food that didn’t come from his hands? That’s him making Taekjoo depend on him for basic necessities. Zhenya=food, water, shelter. Food, water, shelter=Survive
