I agree that its world building is great and had so much potential... it could've been a really long adventure story if they decided to continue to season 2 instead of ending the main plot early. in my opinion, the epilogues are there just to satisfy the reader's curiosity. The heavy part of the story is still in the main plot and the epilogues were like a gratitude gift of sort for the readers who supported the story so I understand how they focused more on the healing part of the story. After all, the main theme of this story is found family than adventure. I really love how this story turned out and maybe one day the author might pick it up again and continue his adventure in a wider scope. (Hoping so)
By the way, you might already know this story but I recommend A Secretly Capable Child Is Seeking For Her Dad if you want more adventure focused story that is similar to this.

That is my opinion. I give clear and objective reason that there is something to be work on. I am in no way saying that it is bad or the story is horrible. It is heart warming and cleary taught viewer about the found family aspect. But that in no way it avoids of some criticism. By your logic I have to give every single thing in this site a 10/10 because it is free. Do I have to give all these hentai in this site a 10/10 too ? Even the greatest book like LoTR have it own problems like some people will say the walking part is too long. Once you put something out there, ppl get to express their view on it.
I think I have to be a little nitpick here. The author is amazing at telling the story from a child perspective and create a sense of community. However, on a grand scope of thing after reading the story as a whole, front to back, OTWTMM kinda fail at fleshed out this wonderful world building. I mean it is ok if the author want to focus on the home life, but I feel like we don’t get the adventures sense that I get from the forst few chapter. We basically coop up in the house most of the time. That would be fine if if the world building does not promise the idea of alien and an post apocalyptic world. We should have Mori meet more ppl, go out to more destination. I feel like I alway wanted more from the story, because I felt like the world could be fleshed out better
