So there was this popular tweet on twitter which says:
"i hate when friend groups are literally just a group of people worshipping one person like a cult"
Reading this story reminded me of that tweet. MC is hella relatable because I have been through that myself. I suppose this is a common neurodivergent experience where you say something harmless and the person like Melissa in question starts to sow seeds and make you the bad person, instead of communicating directly. Really makes you hate people honestly.
Though, MC's reaction towards finding out the white lotus's twisted and creepy obsession with her brother is a bit underwhelming. Normally, a person's reaction would be "ugh this person is like this towards their sibling?" MC would take advantage of this and enjoy Melissa's downfall more if that fact was exposed.
The red shoes I'm sure are a reference to something, and it reminded me of the classic pixel RPG witch's house (if you played that game or watched Markiplier's playthrough).
Personally beginning to have beef with the name Melissa because of A Strange But Effective Villainess Life.
This hasn't updated in a long time, so I checked on mangaupdates, turns out the series is on a hiatus, which means either it's discontinued or will probably come back with the change in art style :(
