Haven't read enough then rape sa been in BLs since day one even in Japan but in korea it sell a lot among women they love to see men getting tormented as much as men love to see women wise versa.
I have been reading yaoi manga in general since 2014 - 2015 and way before manhwas were as big as now, but im pretty sure Japanese mangas had plot to it, characters building, and sure SA was there but not ALL THE TIME like it is rn, rn almost every other mamhwa that is coming out has SA in it!!!
Japan used to have lots of rape but after manhwa come in with green flag seme's japan stopped making that kinda stories now but korea is back to Japan plotline rape and all even worst... Sure not all old mangas has rape or sa but I have read most of them has non con rp and some has gang rp tooo so but rape plot sell a lot you won't believe kinda stories on korean official sites come in best selling they are most of worst in general full of rspe , abuse and mind break. Cuz it's sells a lot bl is already taboo type genre there so adding these kinda elements doesn't make much difference to them also straight porn does same things to women in there ... So i m not sure bl authors love making that kinda plots cuz audience want that. .... If they wanan use their money
