People writing romance HAVE to learn how to set up a relationship. As a writer, and now as an adult, I'm realizing many authors don't know how to kickstart a relationship without rape. It's tired, genuinely. I'm over it, cause it's unnecessary when you have plot that could take up that space, or conversations that move the characters along to have a better bond. I'm always gonna find you to be a bad storyteller if that's how you start the romance. They don't even come back to it properly in a way that makes it "necessary" to the story (and honestly, I still haven't found a plot with SA that manages to justify including it). I like the story elsewhere, but I cannot read the first chapter again now.
