I’m 36 chapters in and I just realized how much survivors guilt he probably has, imagine failing to save the world 8 times, killing your loved ones, having to force humanoids into containment and watching over them basically every second of the day, and still failing; he’s blinded by the goal and didn’t think of more ways he could’ve achieved it, definitely took a toll on his mentality or smn
