I understand what ur saying, perhaps the way it was laid out is questionable. Although it's not obligation to read the novel, it is ignorant to make such comments/assumption about a character without reading the novel prior. As you can tell, most of those commentors called Yuri a Pedo rather than addressing the artist/art style itself.
I didn’t know the BL community had some people with zero reading comprehension. You’ll see other BL stories that actually portray pdfs, gr0mers, and rap!sts with panels explicitly showing their mindset, behavior, and intentions—and somehow some of yall ppl still jump to the worst possible conclusion here
Like, dawg, if you actually read the novel and understood Yuri’s POV, you’d be embarrassed by how quickly you interpreted everything—You can recognize that a child is beautiful without being sexually or romantically attracted to them. Sometimes you just see something beautiful and can’t help but admire it—like a sunflower reflecting the sunlight. It’s beautiful. That’s literally it.
People are taking this so seriously while clearly not even reading the novel which is the official, and honestly, it’s fucking hilarious to me. Be who you are for your pride, I guess.
Not every form of admiration is sexual or romantic. **Context matters.** Read beyond the surface, pay attention to the character’s actual thoughts and intentions, and maybe engage with the literature before making accusations.
