It definitely was a really good read and way too underrated in my opinion because why are there so few comments here. I could still see my own comment from last week.
So anyways both ML and MC are flawed characters. After reading the novel it felt more like the seme was the actual MC especially from the second half where we barely got the seme's POV compared to the uke. The seme here is a jerk just like I said. They don’t whitewash him at all. He even acknowledges it himself and starts regretting what he did to the MC the further we go. As for their dynamics I don’t really know if it fits the he fell first but she fell hard kind of trope because the uke is down bad. Like I don’t think anyone can reach that level of downbadism where you just leave your pride at the table. As for the seme in the early stages of their relationship after the he realized he likes the uke too he was acting like those tsundere anime girls who spew insults but secretly want attention. The type that gets constantly angry over random shit and is such a clingy crybaby that starts throwing tantrums if he doesn’t get attention for even one second. He would threaten to break up over the most BS reasons like not texting back right away and whatever. Then stuff happened and they actually broke up. The ML learns about the MC’s past relationship and all that then they patch things up and the relationship becomes more emotionally stable even though it’s still rough because of that clingy tsundere baby seme who gets jealous of literally anyone and everyone. Their relationship ends up more stable this time around because they both accept each other’s flaws and decide to move forward. We also get a proper dive into the ML’s backstory. His dad is such an asshole ngl ,but thankfully the uke’s family makes up for it and treats him the sweetest ever.
Honestly I just really liked the emotional depth of this novel especially with the ML’s overthinking. His behaviour is definitely flawed but the MC never had that I can change him mindset. It was more of an I can accept him for who he is mindset and that helped so much more because instead of shutting himself off the seme finally had someone to lean on. The breakup was definitely needed too. They both had to sort themselves out. This novel is more of semes journey to happiness.
