There ain’t much… The redemption itself was pretty quick… The suffering stretched out waaaay to long only for a subpar payoff…
After the truth came out, Winston decided to harm kill both him and his mother, which Yujin ultimately stops. Yujin believed that “taking the easy” way won’t erase what he has done.
However, please note, that Winston tried— I mean REALLY TRIED to believe Yujin. But understand that, when criminals want to kill, no matter how careful you are, you will be killed because of INTENT. In this case, Winston fell for the toxic family’s trap…
Even though the redemption arc was extremely short (mainly because Yujin chose to forgive like bird), understanding that Winston was manipulated with “evidence” also contributes to how I felt about the redemption arc. In some ways, he fell victim to the predators (father) trap…
Also, Winston placed his trust, every inch of his trust into Yujin. So after he got manipulated (not easily btw) that Yujin cheated on him, that’s when trust became RAGE, thus his diabolical acts towards Yujin (which btw is never justified BUT somewhat understandable).
I’m no expert since I pretty much skimmed through the novel because my 30-year old ass can’t take ragebaits well. But I’m merely setting realistic expectations for the final PAYOFF. Because I myself, am a Redemption Arc Enjoyer.
Also, this Author is pretty bad when it comes to making Tops suffer. Even in Kiss Me Liar, ML got forgiven after “saving his love” from danger lol. Though the side stories itself was the karma, but still a pretty unsatisfactory payoff. Just saying. DON’T GET YOUR HOPES UP
