I finished rereading and it was as good as I remember, but there are two things that I reaaaaally didn't like about it. First is ash's rut. That was very uncomfortable to get through, yes Lyle insisted on staying bc he was concerned for ash, but what happend to him wasn't right. But then again what do I expect from these authors lol, they are fully capable of writing decent sex, even during a stupid rut, but nah let's go with the bottom begging for it to end and the top's "I can't control myself" bs.
Second is the toys. Like that whole thing was a bit weird. And once again ash was the one that made it so. He sensed that lyle was hiding something, and he went on attack mode instead of confronting first, like yeah he doesn't know what we readers know (Lyle is gonna propose) but still, he should've tried to understand that not everything a partner keeps secret is harmful, like surprises are a thing?? And the author could've just made Lyle say that it's not something to worry about and he should be able to tell ash about it at the right time.
Idk if that was the author's attempt to "spice" things up or make it a bit problematic, but it could've been avoided bc the story itself was kinda chill, or they could've explored these matters in a better way. Anyway I do love the story and Lyle a lot. But that rut part and the side stories aren't really my favourites.
