I also like how I didn't truly like any of the characters as weird as it sounds. I could empathize with maybe some of the choices they made or with the way they suffer but a story doesn't have to have likable, moral characters to be a good story. And I think this was a good one.
This is such a great read when you don't view it as romance, even though it may look like one. It has the same feeling to me as one of those many stories passed down by mouth—stories full of terrible things like devils and human greed and curses that last generations that only love could maybe break.
