The brother just wasn't raise right, their parents let the brother raise mc alone. While they are financially stable, still... it's no wonder the brother was dependent on mc in a twisted way. He spent those years of childhood raising mc, but couldn't grow up himself. They have no parents at home, the brother mentioned that his father wanted a son that won't over shine him, also mc can't recall their childhood. I think it's signs that their parents weren't normal either, which caused the brother, who was the one who spent more time with their parents to become a twisted wreck.
The proof that he wasn't a psychopath of some sort is that he could actually feel guilty, learn, and accept his mistakes. But I guess he wasn't mentally well, which drove him to do extreme actions, he's not hopeless though... Seeing how he listened to his friend's advice and admitted he was wrong. I really want a continuation of the brother's story...
