Jio and Giovanni are two different people but like... thing of it as if they are the same person from different dimensions.

Guys I’m on Chapter 11 and a bit confused. I’m not sure I fully understood who Giovanni is and what his connection to Jio is. Are they two different people who merged together? And what’s the point of them meeting? I don’t know if it’s because English isn’t my first language but even after re-reading the chapter I still don’t get it
