Really? I like it when stories are of the same universe honestly. It could be someone totally unrelated this time, but i love to see small references of the old series just like BJ alex author did w cherry blossom in winter. Same universe, totally unrelated characters!

Its just a preference. I'll read whatever they make as long as its good. Also BJ Alex and Jinx might exist in the same universe but they're not related at all in terms of plot. While in these stories all character lives are intertwined somehow.
I wish the creator would move on from this universe now. This was a very cute ending. I love the characters and their stories, but I'd love to see something completely new next.
