My Rant/IMO
To each their own, there's different circumstances. But men and women can be friends and even best friends. Age is also a big factor, as you grow up you realize people are just people regardless of gender. And if you can't see the opposite gender as just a friend that's person issue. Men and women are more than just future romantic or sexual relationships.
I get you. I know men and women can be friends but as mentioned I DON'T TRUST them I am not saying I'm hating on people with gbf and bbfs, I just don't wanna be involved with someone who does have gbfs and bbfs who doesn't know their boundaries at all. As you can see in the story he pretty much don't realize why his gbf acts that way until later. I just find his character quite undeveloped and lacking. I finished the story, he's cute but that's it. He's not ideal for me.
I don't trust guys with girl best friends at all. I'm conflicted about this. He's pretty dismissive about almost everything prolly bcs of his avoidant attachment. Well, for me this is a MEH.
