i feel like if you look at it from face value you'd think that he's a full-blown narcissist that's inlove with his own reflection, but if u take the time to read between the lines i think that the author is hinting at the fact that he's obsessed with the fantasy of becoming a woman nd since he can't truly live out that dream, he's projecting it onto his sister, who looks exactly identical to him, which is why he prefers her hair to be long, for her to wear feminine dresses & makeup, bcs he sees himself in her.
