When Compton makes those negative comments about previous students of Heejae’s, I’m sure it was off-putting to Garam. It was certainly off-putting to me. Calling Krueger a coward because he has trauma from his time as heejae’s student, is very judgmental and cruel. Also hypocritical, seeing as Compton doesn’t even play the piano anymore because of how heejae affected him. At least Krueger is trying to better himself and his piano playing. Even if Compton was just trying to show Garam that he considers Garam special and apart from the other students, to tear other people down while giving someone a compliment is gross. I’m sure Garam didn’t like it, especially since he values his friendship with Kruger. And it reaffirms that Compton really doesn’t know Garam at all, despite music being shared.
