It probably has more to do with her rather than Beth.
The way the guy(keymont I think) is introduced it seems like he might be revealed to be the person who assaulted her in the past.
I could be wrong but this looks like a foundation to find out who assaulted her in the past.
I was excited about new chapters but I truly have zero interest in anything to do with Beth
