I think it's a mistake to interpret the nieces actions as attachment(in the affectionate sense), not to say she can't display any of that but rather I think it's more of survival and selfishness. And I thinks she's willing to throw her aunt under the bus to get what she wants. Via her wanting the husband in the next life. I think she believes she's entitled to her aunt doing for her. I think it's that entitlement and clinginess that may come off as attachment. But it's kinda makes since for her( I'm not saying it's excusable), she wasn't raised properly so it's no wonder she's all over the place, she doesn't have that regular family system to teach her boundaries(if she would have any in the first place). Her aunt doesn't even function as a mother replacement but like an older sister that's there and has to do for her.
