This chapter showed side of Compton that he usually hides which is being scared of Heejae’s comments. As someone that seems to have been a teacher’s pet, he still waits for his validation, his encouragement and kind words. As any victim of abuse, they would take any crumbles of kindness from their abuser and that really broke my heart for Mr. Compton.
I hope he finds peace and goes to therapy.
