Idk,i kinda agree with you but what if he just want a simple life knowing he worked hard his whole life ..not all poor people want a luxury in their life.he needs the scholarship so he will graduate proudly because he worked hard for that.as you said he might not gonna be selected if ever but giving him false hope that he thinks they really gave it to him because he worked for that is not okay for him.you see education is the only thing he can be proud of and maybe he wants it to brag to taeseo thay he did it himself ..can't he not have a pride even though he struggled his whole life?and its not even big pride.he just want an accomplishment without taeso buying anything because he knows he smart.
And look at him do he need to live in luxury and sacrifice his freedom ?when he started to live with taeseo it really help him but taeseo started to take his freedom away.limited his interactions with everything ..taeseo is using his money so yeomin will depend on him that much..my baby boy just wanted to be a teacher and live a simple life with his freedom and a relationship with taeseo going on a dates like any other ordinary couple.but taeseo is not even aware of that thinking money is everything which is not..

Yup I agree with you about the freedom thing , but honestly the fact he runs to every single gig working 24/7 , and keeping up with excellent performance in school , facing so much hardships dealing with different types of people without his personality being ruined or turning trash, living honestly , are more than enough accomplishments to brag about . Like how seo said before "how can he keep smiling despite all of that " . honestly I'm curious after both of them go thro the argument how would he deal with the debt thing , is he going to be like ' oh I will work for u as repayment for my dept ' than u could never call that a boyfriend lovers relationship, it's just u repaying him either by being his sugar baby or maybe an office worker in his company which I don't really like . For real if being realistic either he pay the debt by himself after extra +10 years of suffering , or let taeseo pay for that , or just define that relationship so no more sugar baby/daddy misunderstanding thing continue

I might be shamless , but most of what seo said is right about his father and him struggling with debt like at some point I was waiting for our boy to collapse, honestly nothing wrong with him getting the scholarship and his debt dealt with cause HE DESERVE IT and worked hard I believe he would've been selected in any scholarship regardless who invent it ,and how his father ended up in mental hospital like baby boy ur father ruined ur life!
