I dunno if I can fully articulate my idea here, and it is thoughtfully realized in some ways, but in many others, this story feels like aestheticized melancholy and gratuitous angst. It's glossy, but there are a lot of moments that felt shallow or empty to me, or explained weakly post hoc. It's not my favorite chepali writing.
